Update: Tomfoolery is now part of Yahoo!

We’re thrilled to announce that yet another DRSmedia client has been acquired. Tomfoolery announced last week that Yahoo! has acquired the team and their technology, and that the former Tomfools will become Yahoos.  We’re so happy for the whole team, and wish them tremendous success at Yahoo!.

Tomfoolery Inc, builds modern, consumer-quality software for work.  Founded by successful entrepreneurs out of Yahoo! and AOL with deep backgrounds in social mobile consumer technology, and backed with investments from key Silicon Valley investors, Tomfoolery builds social tools and apps for the workplace with one goal in mind: “Work Awesome.”

The company is focused on the spirit of fun and play that’s the hallmark of great team culture.  Work doesn’t have to feel tough, or hard, or serious. In the best teams, work is awesome, it’s something fun and creative — and you can’t wait to get started when you wake up in the morning. That’s the spirit of Tomfoolery, and why we love working with them.

DRSmedia has run PR for Tomfoolery since their launch in January of 2013, including the launch of their first product, Anchor.  Some of Tomfoolery’s coverage in the press is listed below.  And Tomfoolery’s CEO, Kakul Srivastava, former GM of Flickr, appeared on Bloomberg TV in July, 2013 to discuss the launch of Anchor with Emily Chang.

And here’s a short video about how really great teams work together:
